This picture, taken on the Arrow Lakes just outside Nakusp, was surprisingly challenging to make. High mountains surround the lakes, so although dawn may come at the usual time in summer, you will not see the sun hit the actual water until about 90 minutes later. I just had to wait and patiently sip my coffee while I waited for some colour to hit the mountaintops and the water.
