This is the first still-life digital photograph that I made back in 2004. I set up the garlic on a black fabric background facing a north-light window behind me. I love the way that the light reflects from the right clove back into the body of the garlic that would otherwise be in shadow. This is reminiscent to me of the light found in a Rembrandt painting.
