This infrared image was made two days after Christmas in 2010. There is no snow on the ground, which is very unusual for that time of year on the South Thompson River in Kamloops. At about 3:00 PM, the low winter sun shot underneath some of the low clouds and lit up the trees opposite like a searchlight. I love the way the hills behind the trees are mostly in shade, making the contrast between the two quite dramatic.
