South Thompson Benchland Farm - Rodger Hort Photography

Rodger Hort Photography

This is one of my first successful infrared landscape photographs. It was taken along the South Thompson River near McAbee (where you can hunt for fossils). With less than nine inches of precipitation annually, the land is desert-like and requires irrigation from the South Thompson River for farming to be possible. If you look closely, you can find irrigation pipes and an irrigation pipe wheel stashed along the side of the barn. You'll also see a hydro tower to the smaller tree's left, giving you a sense of scale for this scene.
