I made This 5-picture composite infrared panoramic image using my first infrared-modified camera in 2007. The blue sky turns black, and the water vapour in the clouds reflects a lot of infrared light, which adds a lot of drama to the scene. Chlorophyll in plants also reflects mainly all the infrared light, making them bright white when photographed in strong sunlight. Coniferous trees don't reflect as much infrared, so they appear slightly darker. Since the anti-alias filter is removed from the camera in the conversion process, detail in infrared images is very sharp, even at large aperture openings. This part of the world transfixes me because a beautiful picture can be made anywhere.
