Glass Beach, Looking Toward Marshall Point - Rodger Hort Photography

Glass Beach, many years ago, used to be a garbage tipping point before people became more environmentally sensitive. Some trash disposed of used to be glass bottles that broke with the many storms that have hit our coast over the years. The glass shards became small pieces of sea glass that were rounded and frosted by the wave action over time. People still like to go there to hunt for sea glass occasionally, but many other beaches on Texada contain more glass than you would find in this well-picked area.
