The ferry from Tsawwassen to Victoria takes about one hour and thirty-five minutes. About halfway through the journey, you will travel through Active Pass, an aptly named body of water flowing between Galiano and Mayne Islands. I took this picture from the ferry using a modified 35mm camera that only sees infrared light. Since the infrared image straight from the camera has a deep ruby-red tone, post-processing is required to yield the results you see here. I quite like the effect of this image, which is reminiscent of a hand-painted picture from years ago.
