Throughout the year, we get a wide variety of tugs tying up at Van Anda Cove Wharf, but most by far are those that tow barge loads of limestone rock to the various LaFarge cement works up and down the coast. Texada is well known for the high-quality limestone that is abundant on our island. Although this is unverified, I've heard it said that our limestone is used as far south as San Francisco.
